Bug hunters appear to be in a race to uncover new security flaws in both Firefox 2 and Internet Explorer 7, which Microsoft released last week. Word of what appears to be the first publicly disclosed IE 7 vulnerability came Wednesday.
At least two bug reports that indicated they affected the new Firefox release crossed over popular security mailing lists this week. But Mozilla on Wednesday downplayed those claims.
“I would call it just noise,” said Window Snyder, Mozilla’s security chief. The two issues don’t present any real risk to Firefox users, she said.
One of the problems is related to a vulnerability that was patched in an earlier version of Firefox. A report on the Bugtraq mailing list suggested that the issue, labeled “critical” by Mozilla, resurfaced in Firefox 2.
The report is incorrect, Snyder said. “The vulnerabilities that were identified were actually fixed.”
However, there is a related problem that can cause Firefox to crash. “The exploitable issues are fixed. There is a crash, but it is a denial of service,” Snyder said. “We’re going to look at it and make sure there is really nothing there.”
Another report on the Full Disclosure mailing list suggested that there is a flaw in Firefox 2 that could be exploited to aid in cyberscams.

Sprint To Get Samsung A900M In October
Sprint users can look forward to the release of the Samsung A900m this October, which is an updated version of the A900, also known as the Blade. The biggest thing going for the A900M is its size: measuring less than half an inch thick, the A900M should easily fit in your pocket or anywhere else you keep your cellphone. Actually, I guess that makes it the littlest thing going for it.
The A900M is EV-DO-friendly and has plenty of built-in multimedia features, like MP3 playback and the ability to stream music from Sirius. The 1.3-megapixel camera should come as no surprise to anyone and the Bluetooth support is top notch. One of the other, why-would-they-put-this-in-a-phone features is PictBridge support: connect the A900M to any PictBridge-compatible printer and you’ll be printing out lame cellphone camera pics in no time.
The Samsung A900M will make its way to Sprint in October. They’re keeping pricing information secret for now, however.

interracial dating
According to a recent Gallup Poll, nearly 95 percent of young people, ages 18 to 29, approve of interracial dating.
This is a huge difference from the older generation. This tech-savvy, internet-using, demographic has changed, and
atleast in part due to the online universe, and online dating may have helped many people who would have
considered interracial dating taboo, to overcome that and connect romantically. This is a staggering new statistic,
showing that either the internet, and perhaps many a online matchmaking service, has changed and connected these
people, or either the modern school system has successfully indoctrinated opinion. While the indoctrination, which is
probably the biggest factor isn’t always a good thing, in this case, it’s helped to remove the harmful barriers
between races, which undoubtedly help connect people of other races, romantically or otherwise. Generally
speaking, you’re nicer to people you think of as potential dates, so even if only on that level, it will help open human
communication and respect for each other.

10 Don'ts in Dealing with the Google Adsense Program
10 Things Not To Do With Google Adsense
There is no question that you can make some good money with Google AdSense, but you’re setting yourself up
for disaster if you make any of these Top 10 mistakes!
1. Do not use fake information when opening your Google AdSense account.
Google says that’s a no-no and they will cut your account off and keep all the money you may have earned.
Besides, trying to hide your true identity can cause serious problems with the I.R.S. or whoever your tax
authority is.
2. Do not hack or modify Google AdSense code other than to change the parameters that Google authorizes
you to change.
Any attempt to bypass Google’s built-in algorithms not only poses a danger to the integrity of the network, but it
threatens the financial modle that Google operates under. You’re not dealing with some Mom-and-Pop company
here, and Google has the legal muscle and deep enough pockets to drag you through every court in the land if
you damage their business with your hacking antics.
3. Keep AdSense ads off of your registration, confirmation, and all “thank you” pages.
Don’t ask me why you can’t put your ads there. It makes sense to me that those would be wonderful locations.
Google thinks otherwise, however, and doing so is a hanging offense according to their Terms of Service.
4. Do not display AdSense ads and a competitor’s ads (like Overture’s) on the same page at the same time.
That just makes plain good sense. Google doesn’t demand 100% SITE loyalty from you, but they do insist that
their own ads not be cluttered up by offerings from their competitors.
5. Don’t “beg for clicks” or provide any incentive for clicking on your Google AdSense ads.
This is a biggie and you see this rule violated all the time. Any of the “get paid to do stuff” sites that put Google
ads in the member’s control panels are walking the plank and they don’t even realize it. Even those sites with the
polite little messages asking you to “help keep my site running by clicking on our sponsor’s ads” are asking to be
cut off if those happen to be Google ads.
6. Never click on the ads running on your own site, even if you are genuinely interested in the product or service
and are thinking of buying it!
Nothing screams FRAUD louder than a webmaster running up his or her own click counts by happily clicking on
ads fromtheir own site. The Google Gods can track this activity and it won’t be long until you find yourself getting
a goodbye note from their fraud team.
7. No misleading labeling
Google is very specific about what text can be placed around their ads. Their Terms of Service state: “Publishers
may not label the ads with text other than ‘sponsored links’ or ‘advertisements.’ This includes any text directly
above our ads that could be confused with, or attempt to be associated with Google ads.”
This is to keep visitors from becoming confused and barking up Google’s tree when they clicked on an ad that
led to a porn site instead of the recipe site they were expecting to visit.
8. Avoid keyword spamming and other divisive tricks
You may be tempted to buy one of those “generates thousands of key-word rich pages in seconds” programs
that are so popular these days but I’ll tell you this: Their days are numbered. Google is wise to such shenanigans
and they will be hot on your trail. Other prohibited gimmicks include:
• ”Sneaky” page redirects that send a visitor off to a different site than they were expecting to visit.
• Multiple sites, domains, pages, etc. which have substantially duplicate content.
• Hidden text or links of any type.
• Excessive outbound links on any page. Google recommends no more than 100. I’d keep it way below that.
• And here is a nugget of wisdom straight from Google’s mouth: “Do not participate in link schemes designed to
increase your site’s ranking or PageRank. In particular, avoid links to web spammers or “bad neighborhoods” on the web as your website may be affected adversely by those links.
9. Don’t advertise anything on Google’s prohibited items list.
It’s a lot shorter lists than PayPal’s or eBay’s, but it includes a lot of the same stuff like hacking/cracking content,
porn, illegal drugs, gambling sites, beer or hard alcohol (I guess wine is OK), weapons, and the other usual stuff.
10. And the 10th dumbest thing NOT to do with Google AdSense is to let the other nine things stop you from
running an honest site that’s designed to make the most out of this very profitable opportunity that Google offers!

Find a DIGITAL product to sell from a web site (a product you do NOT have to package and 'ship' - they just
download your product).
The key thing: your own web site.
It is all well and good, for those people who HAVE web sites, to tell you that YOU don't need a web site or
web page (like they have).
...Have You ever tried to do the MOST critical step - collect email addresses of potential buyers and visitors
('traffic' you typically PAY for) - when you don't have a site to collect and store them? Where you going to put
them - in your pocket?
...How can you be perceived as a legitimate business, without a PLACE to do business FROM?
...How can people reach YOU easily, without a location to go?
...You want to build YOUR business, or someone else's?
So, we agree: any viable web business MUST INCLUDE a web site.
So, do it yourself.
Create all the web pages, get a domain name, Create the site, the scripts, the order processing, the responders,
the opt-in system, and so on, and so on, and then get it hosted and upload everything, plus your product. And
maintain it all. REPEAT that process every month, with a new product. And then find time to promote your
business.

Blogging: Be Unique, Be Successful!
The Blogosphere has changed in many ways - some for the better (the technology and tools these days are much
more advanced) and some for the worse. The downside of starting out now is that for every topic there seems to
be many blogs already - the web is becoming more and more congested as people discover personal publishing.
It’s also become a more competitive business on some levels and in some segments some of the co-operative spirit
of blogging has begun to fade as people build their empires.
All of this means that if you want to build a blog that is a runaway success you need to consider how your blog will
differentiate itself from all the others out there. While not every blog needs to reach ‘runaway success’ status for
you to make a living from blogging, even lower level blogs need to find ways to stand out from the crowd.

Blogging: Get Big on Adsense!
I’m not sure that that heading is the right words to describe this but I can’t think of any others that begin to
describe the way in which blogging has the ability to snowball. Perhaps it’s a ‘Tipping Point’ thing but as I look
at the last three years in terms of blog traffic, earnings, profile and opportunities I see that the first 18 months
were very very slow. Growth was definitely there from month to month but because the numbers were so small it
didn’t really feel like I was going anywhere.
The wonderful thing about exponential growth is that if you stick at it for the long term it’s a very powerful force.
I look over at the poll I’m running this month and see that 27% of bloggers who responded are making $10 or
less a month from Adsense and I know it sounds so little.
In reality it’s not that much but it’s more than I was making 2 years ago from blogging.
Here’s a calculation that I kept in my mind in the early days.
If that $10 a month increases by 20% every month in a year you’ll be earning $89.16 per month at the end of the
year. Of course that sounds small for a year’s work and I’m sure many bloggers would give up at that point but
lets take it further.
If earnings continued to rise by 20% per month for another 12 months and you begin to see the power of
exponential growth with a figure of $794.96 per month. Do it for another year and the figure is $7088.01 per
month.
Do those figures with the figure of 30% growth per month and the figure after 12 months is $232.98 per month,
after two years its $5428.00 and after three years it’s $126,462 per month! You get the picture. Now I don’t want to promise you 30% growth per month for three years straight but as I’ve written before, the power of
exponential growth in conjunction with hard work and luck is possible - it’s my story. I see each post I write as
an investment in the future and something that has the potential to earn money for me not just today but over the
long term.

Blogging : Work Extremely Hard!
Of course the saying that goes ‘you make your own luck’ has some truth to it. Gary Player once said -
“The harder I practice, the luckier I get”
I’m a strong believer that to be successful you need to be willing to work hard. While there are plenty of people
selling ‘easy money’ on the web I’m yet to find a method of money making that doesn’t have at least some
element of work to it.
Success in many areas of life comes out of discipline and hard work. Getting your body in shape, having good
relationships, succeeding at study etc all take some level of commitment and work. Work alone is definitely NOT
everything (I’ve seen many hard working bloggers who have not had success) but it is one element that I think is
essential.
If you want to get to places you’ve never been before you need to be willing to do things you’ve never done
before. This sometimes means leaving one’s comfort zone and knuckling down for some hard work.

Retire Rich!
You really need to work at retirement these days.
What kind of retirement do you want?
Where do you want to live?
How do you want to spend your time?
Who do you want to spend it with?
What are your goals for retirement?
Whoever worried about these issues before?
Yes, money issues are important in retirement. Do you have enough to retire on comfortably? Is there a danger
you will run out of money? But equally important—many retirement experts would say even more important—
are the emotional and psychological issues surrounding retirement.
To get you in the right frame of mind about retirement, it might help to think of retirement as a full-time job, a new
career with its own challenges, stresses and rewards.
When you seek a new job or career, you ask about pay and benefits, of course. But aren’t you also concerned
about the emotional and intellectual rewards of the job? What are the working conditions? Are you going to look
forward to going to work every day? Will you like the people you’re working with? What do you want to
accomplish in your new job? In short, shouldn’t retirement be the perfect job?
Perhaps you’ve never thought of retirement this way. But consider the problems that often arise out of
retirements that aren’t properly planned.
Loss of identity. Many of us—particularly career-successful people—find their personal identity is wrapped up
in their work. When people ask us who we are, we reply, I’m a business owner, a corporate executive, an
attorney, a teacher. When we retire, we lose that identity. We may respond, “I’m a retiree,” but that doesn’t
have quite the same ring or emotional feel. Successful people in careers invariably have clear, firm goals: I want
to build my own company or I want to be president of the firm. Apply the same goal-orientation and desires to
retirement planning.
It may be an identity that’s linked to your career. For example, former small-business owners may serve as paid
or volunteer advisors to those starting up their own small business. Or it may be something quite removed from
your working years: taking up painting or writing, for example.
Perhaps replying, “I’m a painter” or “I’m a writer” has a more fulfilling or descriptive ring than, “I’m a retiree?”
To get a handle on what their clients really want to do in retirement, what their passions are, financial advisors
often ask thought-provoking questions such as:
If you had all the money you could ever want, what would you do?
If you had only five years to live, but would be healthy the entire time, what would you do?
Boredom. Another psychological fallout of a poorly planned retirement is boredom. That’s why it’s increasingly
common for “retirees” to return to the workforce, at least part-time.
They realize they could easily spend 20, 30, perhaps even 40 years in retirement, much of that in good health,
and they soon find golf and traveling quickly grows old.
One way to avoid boredom is to practice at retirement before you retire. If you think you’d like to take up
painting or carpentry in retirement, don’t wait until the day after you receive your gold watch to start. Start five or ten years before retirement exploring this new career. Take some classes, for example. You may have to try out
several retirement “careers” before you find something comfortable and fulfilling. The same principle applies to
deciding where you want to live during retirement.
Conflicts with spouse. Another factor to keep in mind is that your new career will probably involve another
person: your spouse. Before, you went off to work. Now you’ll likely be home more. Do both of you envision
the same retirement goals? What if your spouse wants to travel a lot but you just want to stay home and play
golf, or you both want to share the same home office? These issues need to be resolved as much as possible in
advance.
Failure to realize that retirement comes in stages. Retirement is not linear. Retirement experts now recognize that
retirement comes in stages, ranging from healthy and financially comfortable when you first retire to health
problems and health costs in later years. Keep these stages in mind when you plan your retirement career.
